How it should run?

I`ve been googling for answers but with no luck. I think my specs should run this game a bit better D: To get at least a decent minimum fps around 30 I have to lower the resolution to 1280x1024. Every other game I play at 1600x1200.

If I use the 1600x1200 resolution my minimum fps drops to 10 D:

Settings are high and lowering them to medium didn`t make a lot of difference.

Specs of course:

Processor: AMD Phenom II 920

Motherboard: K9A2GM V3

Memory: 2048MB G.Skill DDR2

Video Card: Force 3D AMD ATI Radeon 4870 1gb

Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition 32-bit

    I have similar specs(same as yours exept a 4850 and a atholn X2) and i run it at 1024x768 at high and get 25-40

    Yeah, you should be getting around 35-40 fps. I get 36-48 with a X2 5000+ and a 9600GT.

    Lol, he should be getting more like... 60-80. I get 60fps with my HD4850.

    When I use the 1600x1200, it`s kind of odd since it runs fine (30-60fps) but if I look at some directions it blows shit out of my pc -> 10fps.

    He should be getting much higher than that. My system(yes I know it's better than his) keeps all setting on high with 4xAA and 16xAF at 1440x900 with 63FPS always. For everyone here, the game caps itself at 62FPS so it doesn't go any higher. For some reason mine just sits at the 63FPS number so don't ask.

    All I can suggest is try reinstalling the game or defrag your hard drives. Sometimes small things can help your system run faster.

    1 month old OS, just installed the game. I changed the 62/63fps cap to 100, same as my monitors refres rate at 1280x1024. This is the only and I mean only game I have such low fps that I need to question it.

    We can all say it should run better than that but he needs some sollutions, firstly is this a retail copy or steam, simple first, do you need new drivers? I agree with deadecho, if you registered it on steam defrag the game files, perhaps some overheating, but you would suffer in other games... I've heard of one or two issues with Xp home with the titan pack, are you running 64 or 32 but?

    The first time I runned the game I guess it was with okay fps. After that I downloaded and installed every possible custom character skin I found. Then I just started some instant action deathmatch and my fps sucked so hard that I unistalled every custom skin. I guess the effect never wore off or something. Could it be becouse of the custom skins? EDIT: Steam version. 32-bit Home Xp All drivers are up to date.

    Just to say that apparently UT3 hates amd processors, but it runs perfectly fine on my phenom and a 9800gtx+, also ut3 is geared more towards nvidia instead, but i dont think this would be a major problem, as bad as you are putting it
